Hi! Jessica here.
I’ve had a camera in hand since I was 16 and learned to photograph on a 35mm Minolta film camera- and developed the film (ah, the glorious smell) in a dark room. I’ve been lucky to call San Diego home for the majority of my life. In 2004 I majored in journalism at Point Loma Nazarene University, with an emphasis in creative writing. In my twenties I moved to Los Angeles and refined my craft, taking headshots of my actor/model friends.
In my thirties I moved back home to establish my photography career, while attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. After graduating with a Visual Communications degree, I continued to photograph- this time in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego, California.
I can’t wait for our paths to cross, to experience the energy you and your loved ones bring.
If we’ve already met, thank you for the love, light & shadows.
In 2017, my heart was drawn to a local animal shelter. Little did I know that my future fur baby was there, waiting in a cage for me to adopt him. That I did.
His name is Jackson and he’s a Jack Russell/Beagle/Italian Greyhound mix (I so adore the spot on his face, his floppy ears, and stick legs!). I named him after the Johnny Cash and June Carter song. Having a fur baby is the highlight of my life- so far.
I get what it means to live in a crazy, fun home- my dog bounces off the walls- and understand how this energy translates on camera.
~Can’t wait to meet you, and photograph you & the ones you love.~
